I am running 743 km's from New Plymouth to East Cape to raise funds for Burns victims. Dave Walker - David Walker

66

Overview

I'd love to make a difference to other burns victims by raising $217,000 for a microscope, needed at the National Burn Centre, Middlemore Hospital. I know from personal experience how people feel who have been badly burnt, especially children. I'll need a campervan for 11 days, some help with petrol costs for my crew and help with food costs. Other than that, if you are able to make a donation to The National Burn Centre, I know they and the many patients they treat each year would appreciate it. For more info about this "743 km Cape to Cape run" go to www.manonfire.co.nz

I need

  • To eliminate accommodation costs I really need a camper-van for the 11 days it will take to run this course, some petrol funds for it and another car  my crew will use and some supermarket food vouchers ( or like)  for food for the crew and I.

  • Dave created the ManonFire campaign to support the National Burn Centre. As part of this campaign, he has successfully completed one of the toughest races on earth - a 217km race through Death Valley and in doing so raised much need funds for the National Burn Centre. Dave has also raised awareness for the plight of burn patients, such as the Jimi Harper and many other children who are burnt every year. He wishes to stop the emotional and physically scarring caused by burns, especially preventable accidents. He has inspired others by continually evoking the mantra that “he is just an ordinary kiwi bloke” – proving anyone can do great things. Dave has galvanised the community and his making a difference. Dave Walker has become another inspiring Kiwi – motivated, dedicated, heroic and above all compassionate for all he wishes to assist. He is Pure New Zealand.
